Sesame Ahi Tuna and Orange Glazed Scallions (L&G)

There's nothing more fun than making truly impressive meals that make you, your guests and most importantly, your mouth (and body!) super happy. This uh-mazing recipe for Sesame Ahi Tuna with Orange Glazed Scallions would easily cost you $25+ in a restaurant, yet you can make it super quick and easy, as well as super cheaply at home.  Looking for a recipe to impress?  You've found it!



1 3/4 lbs  Ahi tuna steaks (approx 7 ounces each)

2 T Stacey Hawkins Toasted Sesame Ginger Seasoning  (or sesame seeds, fresh ginger, red pepper, garlic, onion, salt and pepper)

4 tsp Stacey Hawkins Valencia Orange Oil (or oil of your choice)


2 cups scallion greens

4 tsp Stacey Hawkins Valencia Orange Oil   (or oil of your choice) 

pinch Stacey Hawkins Dash of Desperation Seasoning (or salt pepper garlic onion and parsley)


In one minute, watch how it's made!

  1. Place Valencia Orange Oil in the pan and heat over medium high heat.
  2. Season tuna with Toasted Sesame Ginger Seasoning.
  3. Place tuna in the hot pan and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred level of doneness.  3 minutes will be more rare in the middle, 5 will be more thoroughly cooked.
  4. While the tuna is cooking, make the scallions.
  5. Add Orange Oil to the pan.
  6. Trim the scallions, setting the whites aside for another recipe.
  7. Add the scallions to the pan and cook for about 5-7 minutes on medium heat, until they wilt.  
  8. Season with Dash of Desperation.
  9. Divide the scallions into 4 portions and place on a plate with a tuna steak on top.  
  10. Serve hot as an entree or make multiples and serve over salad the next day for lunch!
