I’ve had so many of you reach out lately to tell me how much these Monday emails are landing in your heart… and it reminds me why we’re doing this. Because sometimes all we need is one good reminder at the right time, and someone to listen.
And so this happened this past Thursday and now I'm sharing it with you:
It is never too late to do what you feel called to do.
Not at 40. Not at 50. Not at 60. Not at 74. Not at “I should’ve done it years ago.”
This past week, I had the good fortune to attend an intimate women’s conference where we talked about aging, menopause, perimenopause, and everything in between. The big takeaway? Aging is inevitable… but how we feel while we do it? That part has options we're in control of.
Which, as you can imagine, is right up my alley.
And then the keynote speaker walked out… and it was Brooke Shields.
Yes, that Brooke Shields.
She was hysterical, down-to-earth, brilliant, and she shared something that really stuck with me. She talked about how she spent so much of her life doing what other people needed her to do. Directors. Agents. Her Mom. Expectations. Even family dynamics. And while she had an extraordinary career, she realized something:
She hadn’t built much of anything that was truly hers.
So at the “ripe old age” of 60 (which, by the way, she made sound like 25), she decided to do something for women like us. During COVID she started an online conversation group and realized there was a huge gap in the market: menopause hair changes and the total lack of real solutions for women.
She was fed up with the BS.
So she did what empowered women do…
She decided to do something about it and create a solution.
She started and became the CEO of a brand called Commence—and she admitted she was scared to death. Even with fame and success, she still had self-doubt, questions, and that little voice saying, “Who do you think you are?”
But she surrounded herself with smart people. She got educated. She asked about money and financing. She learned the business side. She kept going. And she said something I loved:
Even money couldn’t buy what she needed.
She needed knowledge, belief, and tenacity. She needed to invest in herself.
And then—she did it.
That’s the part I want you to take with you today.
Maybe you don’t want to launch a national brand. Maybe your dream is smaller… or maybe it’s even bigger. Maybe it’s going back to school, starting a side gig, changing careers, moving, traveling, joining a group, finally prioritizing your health, or doing the thing you keep whispering about but never say out loud.
Whatever it is… it matters.
So here’s my challenge to you:
Do you have a "thing" you’ve been sitting on?
Something you want to do, but you keep waiting for “the right time”?
Hit reply and tell me what it is. Just tell me.
Because once you say it out loud?
That’s when the magic starts and the Universe listens.
That’s when the ball starts rolling. That’s when you stop waiting and start becoming.
Here’s to doing it for you.
Here’s to getting brave.
Here’s to remembering—it’s not too late... not even a little.
With love and a gentle push towards living your best life-
