Choose your GLP-1 Option

Breathe easy! This simple guide will walk you through what you need to do to begin.
If you’re ready to explore GLP-1 medication through Lyv Health, your first step is to decide which path is best for you (if you are not already on peptides- in which case you can jump to the next step.)
Please note this page is not medical advice, and I am not choosing your medication for you. This is simply a plain-English guide to help you understand the basic differences so you can make a more informed next step.
You’ll want to think through three things:
- Which peptide? Semaglutide or Tirzepatide
- Which method? Injectable or sublingual dropsIf injectable
- Which blend? B12 or glycine
Don't worry- we'll keep this simple.

Step One: Semaglutide or Tirzepetide?
Both semaglutide and tirzepatide are GLP-1 related medications that can help reduce appetite, quiet food noise, slow digestion, increase fullness, and support weight loss for many people.
But they are not exactly the same.
Semaglutide
Semaglutide is the peptide used in medications like Ozempic and Wegovy.
It works mainly through the GLP-1 receptor, which helps regulate appetite, fullness, blood sugar, and digestion.
In real-life language, semaglutide may help you feel satisfied sooner, stay full longer, and think about food less often.
Semaglutide may be worth exploring if:
You are looking for a lower monthly cost.
You want to start with a familiar GLP-1 option.
You are already taking semaglutide and want to continue with the same peptide.
You want the peptide used in Ozempic and Wegovy.

Tirzepatide
Tirzepatide is the peptide used in medications like Mounjaro and Zepbound.
It works through two pathways: GLP-1 and GIP.
That dual action is one reason tirzepatide may feel more powerful for some people and may lead to greater weight-loss results for some patients.
Tirzepatide may be worth exploring if:
You want to explore the dual-action option.
You are already taking tirzepatide and want to continue with the same peptide.
You have used semaglutide before and want to explore another option.
You want the peptide used in Mounjaro and Zepbound.
Simple takeaway
Semaglutide: GLP-1 pathway, familiar, typically lower cost.
Tirzepatide: GLP-1 + GIP pathways, dual-action, typically higher cost.
Neither is automatically “better.”
The question is which one feels like the better fit for you. If you're not sure, talk to your health care provider.

Step 2: Injectable or Sublingual Oral Drops?
What About Method and Effectiveness?
Okay, so let’s say you’ve decided which peptide you want to explore: semaglutide or tirzepatide.
The next question is:
How do you want to take it?
With Lyv, there are two treatment methods available:
Injectable GLP-1 medication
or
Sublingual GLP-1 drops
Both are designed to help support appetite control and weight loss, but they are not the same experience, and the research behind them is not equal.
Injectable GLP-1 Medication
Injectable GLP-1 medications are the most established method.
This is the method used by the brand-name medications you already know, including Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, and Zepbound.
Injectables are typically taken once weekly and delivered under the skin with a small needle.
And yes, I know.
Needles are not exactly anyone’s idea of a spa day.
But for many people, the injection is quick, easy, and far less dramatic than they expected.
Why injections are considered the more proven option
Injectable semaglutide and tirzepatide have the strongest clinical evidence for weight loss.
That does not mean they are right for everyone.
But it does mean that if your top priority is using the method with the most established research behind it, injections are usually the clearer choice.
They also allow the medication to bypass the digestive system, which can make absorption more predictable.
In plain English?
With injections, there is more research, more clinical experience, and less guesswork around how the medication enters your system.

Sublingual GLP-1 Drops
Sublingual drops are taken under the tongue.
For some people, this feels much less intimidating than an injection.
You place the drops under your tongue, hold them there as directed, and allow them to absorb through the tissue in your mouth.
This option may feel appealing if:
You strongly dislike needles.
You want to explore a non-injectable option.
You prefer something that feels simpler or less intimidating.
You are interested in starting with a gentler-feeling approach.
What about effectiveness?
This is where we need to be clear.
Sublingual GLP-1 drops may be an option some people want to explore, but they do not have the same level of clinical evidence as the injectable medications.
That means we cannot honestly say they are “just as effective” as injections.
Some people may do well with drops.
Some people may prefer the convenience.
Some people may like the idea of avoiding injections.
But if you are choosing based on the strongest available weight-loss research, injectables currently have the advantage.

A Simple Way to Think About It
Injectable options may be worth exploring if:
You want the method with the strongest clinical evidence.
You are comfortable with a once-weekly injection.
You are already using an injectable GLP-1 and want to continue with that method.
You want the most established approach for weight-loss treatment.
Sublingual drops may be worth exploring if:
You strongly prefer to avoid injections.
You want to explore a non-injectable option.
You understand that the research is more limited.
Injectables: more established, stronger evidence, once weekly.
Drops: non-injectable, may feel easier, but clinical evidence is more limited.
If your top priority is the option with the strongest research behind it, injections are usually the clearer choice.
If avoiding needles is your top priority, drops may be something you want to explore.

Step 3: If Injectable, B12 or Glycine?
If you choose an injectable option, you will also need to choose a supporting ingredient.
The main medication is semaglutide or tirzepatide.
Vitamin B-12 or glycine are added for additional support.
Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 supports red blood cell formation, nerve health, DNA production, and energy metabolism.
B12 may be worth considering if:
You are drawn to energy support.
You want a familiar vitamin-based blend.
You eat very little animal-based food.

Glycine
Glycine is an amino acid involved in collagen production, sleep, nervous system support, and antioxidant pathways.
Glycine may be worth considering if:
You are drawn to recovery or sleep support.
You like amino acid-based support.
You are focused on collagen, muscle, and/or tissue support.
You want something that feels more restorative.
Simple takeaway
B12: energy, vitamin, nutrient support.
Glycine: recovery, sleep, collagen, amino acid support.
Again, the GLP-1 is the main medication.
You choose the additional support.
There's no right or wrong. One is jot better than the other. Simply choose which support is best for you.
And yes, you can always change it. And no, the formula does not allow for both B-12 AND glycine to be added.

Your Decision Checklist
Before you click through to Lyv Health, write down your choices. This will make the next step much easier. And if you already are on a GLP-1, please clearly write what you are on and the mg strenghth in the area where you write what your current medications are.
